The Garden Box Project began in 2012 and provided 22 food pantry recipients with a Garden Box, growing mix, seeds or seedlings, and ongoing gardening support from local volunteers. Today there are more than 85 boxes in use.

The Garden Box Project allows small families, senior citizens or people with limited green space the opportunity to grow fresh, healthy food in raised boxes. An additional benefit of this program is the social connections that develop between participants and their volunteer garden partners.
