The Garden Box Project was initiated in the spring of 2012 and provided 22 food pantry recipients with a free Garden Box, growing mix, seeds or seedlings, and ongoing gardening support from local volunteers.  The project was very successful and has now been expand to over 85 boxes.  One of the best parts of this program is the strong relationships that developed in the community between the participants and garden partner volunteers.  The idea behind this project is to provide even more access to fresh healthy food by growing their own.
