ASD announces details of Forage and Gather on the Farm, a FUNdraiser at Harvest Table Farm, October 2, 2017.
Abingdon, VA, 8/29/2017 — Nationally known and respected for its commitment to local farmers, Appalachian Sustainable Development (ASD) will hold a casual, farm-to-table, BYOB FUNdraiser at Harvest Table Farm, 28413 Smyth Chapel Road, Meadowview, Virginia. On Monday, October 2, at 6pm, a limited number of guest will enjoy an outdoor fundraising experience like no other. 100% of all proceeds benefit ASD.
Tickets are $50/person and must be purchased in advance at: asdevelop.org/forage-gather/, space is limited. Guests are encouraged to wear casual clothes and walking shoes or boots. Contact Sylvia Crum at email@example.com for more information.
The experience begins at 6pm and will include a flavorful, 4-course meal created with foraged ingredients and items grown on the farm, served al fresco (outside) by the culinary team from Harvest Table Restaurant. Guests are encouraged to bring their own beverage (BYOB) and enjoy a farm tour upon their arrival. Live music will be provided by K.T. Vandyke and a piece of art will be created live, on site by Laura Blankenship of LaMB fine arts which will then be sold. All proceeds benefit ASD.
Sylvia Crum, Communications and Development Director at ASD explains, “Each year ASD creates fundraising events to bring together a wide variety of folks that recognize the importance of collaborating to build a strong local food culture. Our events are known for their inspirational menus and we thought this theme would be fun given it will be early October. The menu will be created by what is available literally the week before!”
